NOKIA LUMIA IS COMING TO MALAYSIA VERY SOON: THE SIGNS ARE HERE

When Nokia Lumia series was launched in Singapore last month, we pointed out the attendance of Malaysian media at the event which to us signified Lumia’s imminent arrival into the country. True enough, Nokia now has starting to ramp the buzz for them – a clear indication that the new Windows Phone devices are about to receive their official launch here in Malaysia.

For example, Nokia Lumia series is now the featured product on Nokia Malaysia’s official website atwww.nokia.com.my. Furthermore, Nokia Malaysia’s official Twitter has also confirmed Lumia’s arrival through a reply to one of its followers. Even though the exact release timeframe is yet to be known for now, we believe that both Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 will be available in our market exactly at the same time.

In addition to that, we also wonder if the release will happen at the same time as the upcoming launch of Windows Phone Marketplace in Malaysia. It is needless to say that having an official app store on the launch day would certainly help Nokia in getting their Lumia devices to local consumers.

IPHONE 4S TO BE AVAILABLE AT MACHINES MID VALLEY…BUT WITH A CATCH

While Celcom, DiGi and Maxis are gearing up for their big iPhone 4S launch tonight, looks like there is one more channel has been opened for consumers to be able to purchase their iPhone 4S. In addition to the telcos and Apple Store Malaysia, Machines has announced that they will be selling the device starting from 2:00pm tomorrow exclusively at their branch in Mid Valley Megamall.

However, in order for one to purchase the smartphone over at Machines Mid Valley, he or she must be an existing customer of Maxis. Here is the full terms and conditions for the sale, as posted at Machines’ official Facebook page:

Microsoft Presents Handsets with Windows Phone 7.5 

Today, Microsoft is presenting new Windows Phones with a launch event in New York City, for which they have built a six-story phone in the middle of Herald Square.

The company is unveiling three new handsets available from AT&T and one from T-Mobile USA:

  • Samsung Focus S — offered for $199.99; features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 4G-capable speeds, is just 8.55 millimeters thick.
  • Samsung Focus Flash — offered for $49.99; features a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, packs a 1.4 GHz processor and a 5-megapixel camera.
  • HTC Titan — coming soon on AT&T’s 4G network; features the largest screen of any Windows Phone at 4.7 inches, is 9.9 millimeters thick, boasts an 8-megapixel camera.
  • HTC Radar 4G — offered for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate; has a 3.8-inch screen and polished aluminum frame.
